Pinto Mobile App

Pinto is a dynamic art gallery app that empowers users to view, learn, share, and sell their art. With an intuitive interface, it invites users to explore diverse artistic expressions, read about their stories, and learn techniques. Pinto fosters collaboration and inspiration through sharing and community engagement, while also offering artists the opportunity to showcase and sell their work.

Challenge

Our users are young and emerging artists aged 30 to 40 who want to showcase their lesser-known creations. They seek the convenience of a platform that acts as their patron, enabling them to present their creations efficiently.

Artists need a platform that strikes a balance between creating a supportive atmosphere for them and enabling them to effectively share their stories. Additionally, it must enhance user engagement, seamlessly integrate with established social platforms, and prioritize aesthetics to deliver an enjoyable user experience that encourages interaction.

Survey

87% of respondents expressed a strong interest in having a platform where artists can engage with their audience about their creations and stories. 79% of participants indicated that they highly prioritize features that allow interactive dialogue. 65% of the surveyed emphasized the importance of dedicated features within the platform where artists can share the stories behind their creations in depth. 72% of respondents expressed interest in features that facilitate interactive events such as workshops, or virtual exhibitions.

Competitive analysis

I performed a competitive analysis of existing art apps, which at the time were Artsy and DailyArt. I presented my research to the client and these were the features we decided on:

- Offer artists the capability to upload their artwork and share the detailed stories behind their creations

- Provide users with the ability to host interactive events.

- Facilitate interactive dialogue among users while striking a balance between maintaining a welcoming environment for artists and effectively communicating their stories.

- Prioritize aesthetics to provide users with an enjoyable experience that boosts engagement and seamlessly integrates with existing social platforms.

Information Architecture

I created a user flow diagram to map out how users could move between features screens within the app and also shared it with the development team so that they had a full understanding of how flows were connected.

Wireframes

I made wireframes for every screen of the application so that Iā€™d be able to go over the entire product with my client. I made sure the fidelity was high enough so that the client would understand what they were looking at.

Design components

From the outset, a design system was established within Figma to streamline the application of changes throughout the process and maintain a high level of consistency across the entire app.

Mockups

The product's key functionalities were iteratively explored and behaviors were carefully defined across several iterations.
